Rexburg Temple Open House!

Rexburg Temple

Yesterday my roommates and some friends all went to the Rexburg Temple Open House! It was so Beautiful! We left around 4:30 since our tour started at 5pm! When we got there we went to the Chapel by the Temple to start the tour. We watched a video about temples and then headed up to the temple. It is really nice because not once do you have to wait in the cold to get in. Starting from the front door of the church all the way to the back door of the temple they have a heated tent walkway, it was so nice. While I was walking through it I was thinking of the Snowflake Temple open house and how everyone had to stand in the freezing cold for about 2 hours. Once we arrived at the temple we didn't even have to wait very long which was nice to they constantly had many groups going at once. As our tour guide began to walk us through he told us some of the special unique things about the temple, such as the wheat motif that is everywhere, and also some of the paintings that local people had done for the temple! I really loved every room, the baptistery was also very different from what i had seen before. You go into the chapel and then there is a huge glass wall and you can see into the baptistery from it! It was really cool. It is also a very tall building, we went up a lot of stairs to get to the top! Overall it was a great experience and I am excited to go again when Melanie and her family come to it (hopefully, as long as the roads are good). Everything took us about 2 hours since we had to walk there and back in heels and the sidewalk covered with ice:) But we had a lot of fun!

Rexburg Temple From BYU-I campus!

Ellie(friend from chapman hall), Alex( roommate), Amanda(neighbor), Janae(my room roommate) Me, Amanda (roommate). This is all of us that went to the Open house! Sorry, the random girl who took this picture for us, for some reason she didn't want to get the front half of the Temple in the Picture! :) ( If you look closely you can see some of the tented walk way--it kinda blends in with the snow!)

This is us walking back from the Temple Open house! It was soooo slippery...but no one feel:)!
